I haven't been able to get much sewing done this week, of which 100% can be put down to work. Its been an interesting week but one that I am thoroughly enjoying. Unfortunately though, i've had to bring my work home with me most nights and on this weekend.
However i've been determined enough to take some time out today for a some R&R - which has involved a bit of a road trip out to Thimbles and Threads in Upper Hutt (40% off fat quarters.... oh yeah!) followed by a lovely antipasto lunch out on the courtyard, and some sewing whilst watching the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert (probably my most favoured childhood band - I still remember watching the concert when I was 9).
Here is my purchase from Thimbles and Threads, in anticipation for an upcoming project... Elizabeth Hartman's Tokyo Subway Map Quilt. I mentioned previously that my parents used to live in Japan, and also that Tokyo is my [joint] favourite city [alongside San Fransisco], so this quilt will have plenty of sentimental value. This project has come about from what Suz and Monika have been working on - thank you btw!
The king sized bed quilt is now with Sue B... here is a sneak peek...
And because I have been listening to Queen here is one of my favourite Queen songs...
Queen - I Want To Break Free

I love your fabric pull. They look great together. I've been super busy lately too. I don't think I'm gonna make my February finish this month
ReplyDeleteNo sewing for me either as I just had surgery. I love queen too!
